The new Nokia 3610 is here. While it isn’t a remarkable product and has nothing we haven’t already seen, it’s Nokia’s latest attempt to be accepted as a producer of clamshell phones. The Nokia 3610 Fold, as the new version is known, is a far cry from its previous namesake. The older model had monophonic ring tones, monochrome display and offered only the most basic features. The newcomer looks a lot like the popular Nokia 6131.
Using quad-band GSM technology, the Nokia 3610 comes with GPRS, EDGE, 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, 2-inch 240×320 pixel 262,000 color display and has microSD expandable memory. A multimedia player, web browser and email client are all standards features available in this new phone model. There’s also a 2.5 mm audio jack socket. Maximum talktime is 4+ hours and the standby time is 20 days. A little on the large side with a measurement of 100×44x20mm and weighing 97 grams, the Nokia 3610 is a practical mobile phone. It’s excellent for users who look for the necessary features and wouldn’t mind using extra features now and then. The phone is priced at approximately $200, before taxes.

One of the new entrants to the Nokia family is the N78 series, which is quite small in size especially when you compare it to some of the old models still in vogue. This one takes where the other models have left off and provides internet facility that comes with a wireless WLAN feature so that one should be able to access any of the WiFi based Internet services. This model packs quite a punch and all of it under 101 gms, now that’s saying something. This series looks almost like it was ‘twinned’ off the Nokia N95, and the rumor is that it was to be released much after the N99. But given the current Apple waves hitting the shores of many countries, I guess, Nokia wanted to jump the gun a bit.
The N78 has an internal memory of 70MB with a 2 GB memory card, which is an improvement on the old models. This model has a stand-by time of nearly 3 days as well as a talk time of 3 hours, so for those who love to talk the ‘long talks’ on the mobile, this will be perfect. Naturally, web based applications tend to drain out the battery faster, but there are other features to this phone, like the FM radio which provides a longer life for the same. In short, you can optimize your usage in this phone, thus making it last longer than just three hours. Nokia is actively seeking to expand its customer base and most of the applications are customer oriented.
This model has a video player that provides enhanced support to MPEG-4, H.264/AVC, H.263/3GPP, Real Video 8/9/10, Flash 3.0 as well as the video playback option. With the dual camera and a zoom of 8x incorporated into its camera, this model is just great for those perfect snaps that you would want to capture for all eternity. This model is indeed a bargain buy and is just perfect for all seasons, no matter what others may offer.

The days of choosing the wrong clubs are over, at least if ‘free caddie’ has anything to say about it. Most of us have tried our hand at playing golf with the aspiration of becoming the next best thing and have fallen way, way short of that mark. With the latest innovation in software applications like ‘free caddie’ it seems that technology may finally come to our assistance with regard to our golfing.
Free caddie is a program that works with any mobile phone with an integrated gps, in short, it is a range finder. The free caddie application works with any mobile phone with a gps system and gives you the exact golfing range from your current position so that you would be able to choose the right club. Of course, a range finder may not transform you into the next bobby fisher right away but it will definitely have a positive impact on your game.
A Bluetooth phone should do the trick, as well as any of the other brands provided they are able to integrate with the free caddie system. This program has quite a few golf courses in its database and would be able to provide you with the exact measurements, so you need not get confused anymore in choosing the right club for your next swing. In addition to providing the exact range of the course from your position, free caddie also provides you with a profile. In the end, a rangefinder may not transform you into tiger woods but should do wonders to your game at the very least.

India is all geared up to receive the 3G wave, with the Union Minister
for Communication and Information Technology, A Raja, announcing that
such services will be made available by the year end. With 3G, the
Indian public will be able to get access to a range of high definition
services that will enable Multi-tasking on a whole new level.
3G services may be available in the rest of the world but for India,
this is a first. The formalization of such services here is bound to
have an impact on the already burgeoning services sector, namely the
BPO’s. The 3G should provide more depth to such services by way of
multiple multimedia features such as streaming video as well as video
conferencing.
With the date of the launch already set, bids are expected from the 3G
players both domestic and international. With TRAI [ the Telecom
regulatory authority of India ] showing a preference for domestic
bidders, the telecom minister finds himself in a bind as he is in
favor of International bids for the 3G services in India. But since
India already permits FDI investment to about 74%, international
players will be involved in the 3G services in one way or the other.
In addition to 3G, the WiMax networks are scheduled to roll out soon,
although only by next year. There are quite a few cheap knockoffs of
the 3G varieties available in the black market but then again,
purchasing such phones is highly risky since one cannot be assured of
the quality. It is a much better idea to wait for the official launch,
as it is not that far away. The phone services here in India will be
undergoing a rebirth of sorts and soon ‘mobile content’ will be
multifaceted, in more ways than one.

RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie:
When asked if RIM would release a touchscreen version of the BlackBerry, Balsillie sounded optimistic. “For sure we’re looking at all kinds of different device packaging and presentation,” he said. “I think getting religious on packaging is not the way to go, it’s really user preference-oriented.”
This is great news for crackberry owners that hate taking their fingers of the damn things. Using the cumbersome XDA professional is exactly the oppisite. Very unprofessional, the thing is a mini-laptop in your pants, and you cant stick it in your suit pocktet for fear people will think you are packing.
Luckily RIM has taken out a patent on a Blackberry with a touch screen. Though they were initially evasive on whether or not this would every happen, we can see by the above quote that this may actually happen.
Here’s to our crackberries.

Everyone likes to make fun of their competitors. Apple did it with Microsoft, and now it seems that Palm Pilot has gotten in on the fun.
Where Apple used online mediums and advertised on sites like engadget to get their points across using both a skyscraper and a horizontals ad unit.
Treo has taken the option a bit further. After Mondays recent outages Treo decided to take out full page ads in national papers to bring this matter to the attention of people that own crackberry’s. You know the ones that actually read stuff printed on paper?
Unlike the digg generation that use their iPhone to read all the news that set to hit the front page. Treo decided to go offline due to the fact that they wanted to hit the marketplace of people that read newspapers on the way to work or during work. The company has also changed its homepage to read that Palm devices include a little something called “uptime”.

Below is scanned pic of the supposed PSP phone. These scans are actually from 4 months ago, but have just recently started being passed around the gaming community now. Gamers everywhere are living the screen size and the other new features.

Scans of a possible PSPhone would give it a full 480 x 272 display, mini-analog stick, and drop UMD in favor of playing full PSP games via M2.

Not sure how it works, or even if it works yet. But Zibri a iPhone hacker has released a app that will easily remove At&T’s or o2’s lock on your precious iPhone.
The great thing is that you can use this app to jailbreak any version of the iPhone including the iPhone 1.1.3 without having to worry about bricking your brand new iPhone.
Be warned, that we have not used this program and cannot gurantee anything. (Yes, I know I mis-spelled guarantee.)
